Rule numbers
Current rule numbers are displayed in rule identifiers.

The following must be taken into account
-
The numbers are always sorted in ascending order from left to right and refer only to the table columns, i.e. to the current positions of the rules within the decision table.
-
Rule numbers are not 'long-term stable': When reordering, moving, deleting, inserting, expanding or compressing rules, all rules whose position changes in the table inevitably receive new rule numbers.
-
In order to ensure a minimum of 'referential integrity', in the case of all processes that have 'Save Character' (Save, Save As, Print, Generate program code), LF‑ET automatically sorts internally according to Standard sorting.
-
For a particular version of the decision table, standard sorting ensures that all the rule numbers in different objects (decision table, print output, generated source code, etc.) refer to the same rules.
