Automatic rule addition

If a decision table is incomplete, but otherwise error-free, the user can decide whether or not the missing rules should be added automatically.

The function of adding missing rules is executed step by step, i.e. even if there are several missing rules, LF ET always adds only one missing rule and adds the next one only if the previously added rule had been checked and edited by the user.

Only if the condition is correct, i.e. the rules already existing are logically correct and calculable, the rule addition icon in the icon bar is active.

Executing rule addition

  1. Click Add missing rules 01 (left) or 02 (right) in the icon bar:

    • the missing rule is calculated and inserted in the decision table

    • the cursor is placed in the new rule.

  2. Check the logical relationships in combination with the new rule, for example, whether changes are made to conditions and actions.

  3. If necessary, edit these changes in the conditions and actions.

  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 until no more rules are missing.
